Licensed: sportsbet.io is the only approved domain on Curacao licence OGL/2023/110/0072 held by mBet Solutions N.V., which the operator's footer and the CGA Certificate of Operation date to 22 July 2024 while the CGA online licence registry of 3 September 2026 records it at row 580 as issued on 24 December 2025 with status Indefinite and no expiry, and the same domain sits on the Belgian and Swiss national blocking lists.

Who operates Sportsbet.io

Sportsbet.io is operated by mBet Solutions N.V., a company registered in Curacao under number 129230 at Schout Bij Nacht Doormanweg 40, P.O. Box 4745. The site's footer, clause 1.2 of the general terms and clause 1.1 of the anti money laundering policy all name that entity and licence OGL/2023/110/0072. The seal in the footer links to a Curacao Gaming Authority Certificate of Operation, which certifies that sportsbet.io is operated by MBet Solutions N.V. with company number 129230 and gives the current status as Active. The CGA token page for the same licence lists exactly one approved domain, sportsbet.io, so no mirror address is covered by it. Some payment methods are handled by a wholly owned subsidiary, mProcessing Solutions Ltd of Menandrou 4, 1066, Nicosia, Cyprus, which means the entity that received a deposit may not be the entity named on the licence: worth establishing before a dispute starts.

Four register facts sit side by side here and are left unreconciled. On the date: the site and both certificate pages give the grant date as 22 July 2024, while the CGA online licence registry of 3 September 2026 records the licence at row 580 as issued on 24 December 2025, with no expiry and status Indefinite. On the registration number: the row in the 3 September 2026 edition carries no company registration for this licence, while the 27 August 2026 edition records 129230, the same number the site, the AML policy and the CGA certificate all print. On the regulator's name: the AML policy names the Curacao Gaming Control Board and cites the National Ordinance on Offshore Games of Hazard, while the CGA certificate names the Curacao Gaming Authority and cites the National Ordinance on Games of Chance (the LOK, P.B. 2024, no. 157). On the spelling of the entity: the site writes mBet Solutions N.V., while the CGA certificate and the CGA register write MBet Solutions N.V., so a register block quoting the CGA sources carries the capital M. The entity, the licence number and the regulator match across every source read; only the dates and the naming differ.

The brand sits inside a group. Its own About Us page dates the launch to 2016, while trade press dates the brands to 2015 under Coingaming, and the same page describes Sportsbet.io as an official betting partner of Bitcasino.io; payment icons on the site are served from cdn.coingaming.io and the page payload carries the Coingaming.io platform string. Bitcasino.io is licensed to a different entity, Moon Technologies B.V., under OGL/2023/111/0069, so the two brands share a platform and a group but not a licensee. Trade press, which is secondary and not record, reports that the group's founder ordered a shutdown of both brands in 2025 as part of a withdrawal from what it called grey markets, that the group is consolidating under a single brand, and that sale talks were under way in early 2026 with Betsson AB named as the reported frontrunner at a valuation below EUR 50m (about £43m or $54m). No completed sale was found in any source read, and the domain, the licence, the certificate status and the terms were all live on 4 September 2026. One naming caution: Sportsbet without the .io is the trading name of an Australian licensed bookmaker owned by a different group, so the two should never be run together.

What the terms allow Sportsbet.io to do

The general terms carry the version line Last updated 1st October 2025. These are the clauses that govern a withdrawal, an account closure and a balance. Clause 6.5 reserves the right to block or delay a withdrawal until photographic identification, proof of address and a debit card copy are supplied to the operator's satisfaction, and clause 6.6 adds further checks on any withdrawal above EUR 2,500 (about £2,100 or $2,700) or its crypto equivalent. Clause 6.7 allows the account to be suspended, blocked or closed and funds withheld where money laundering law or a state authority requires it, and allows enhanced due diligence on funds that were not used for wagering. Clause 6.10 is the only published periodic ceiling: no more than 1 million USDT or its equivalent per week, roughly $1,000,000 or £790,000, until a large request is settled. Clause 6.4 permits 1x wagering of the deposit before a withdrawal is accepted, clause 6.11 allows transaction fees to be deducted from the amount withdrawn, and clause 3.12 blocks withdrawals for 48 hours after a password change.

Closure and confiscation sit in four clauses. Clause 9.2 reserves the right to refuse or close an account at sole discretion, without prior notice or any obligation to justify the reason, though the same clause says the balance is transferred to a wallet of the player's choosing where no suspicion of money laundering or unlawful conduct arises. Clause 20.1 lists twelve grounds on which the operator may suspend or terminate an account, cancel outstanding bets and confiscate any or all funds at its absolute discretion, from suspected unlawful activity and syndicate or automated play through to deliberate exploitation of a software error. Clause 20.2 makes the operator the final decision maker on whether the terms were broken, and clause 11.8 makes its own calculations final in the absence of manifest error.

Three clauses shape any route out. Clause 11.12 gives seven days in writing to dispute a bet, after which the notification is disregarded, while clause 24.2 gives six months for a formal complaint, on the operator's own template and in English, Dutch or Papiamentu. Clause 24.3 permits escalation to the Curacao Gaming Authority or another ADR provider while stating that the CGA will not decide complaints about gambling transactions, and the complaints procedure page records that the operator had not yet appointed a certified ADR provider. Clause 17.1 restricts assignment by the player only, so a recovery route runs in the player's own name. Clauses 23.1 to 23.3 apply the laws of Curacao and name the exclusive jurisdiction of the Curacao courts.

Withdrawal delayed or refused

A Sportsbet.io withdrawal pending for days sits against clause 6.5, which reserves the right to block or delay processing of withdrawal requests until valid photographic identification, proof of address and a debit card copy are provided to the operator's satisfaction. Clause 6.6 adds further KYC checks on any withdrawal above EUR 2,500 (about £2,100 or $2,700) or the equivalent in cryptocurrencies, and clause 6.7 allows a source of funds review of money that was not used for wagering. Clause 6.4 lets the operator require 1x wagering of the deposit before it accepts a cash out at all, clause 6.11 lets it deduct transaction fees from the amount withdrawn, and clause 3.12 blocks any payout for 48 hours after a password change. Crypto withdrawals need the registered email verified and three blockchain confirmations of the deposit under clause 6.1, while fiat payouts may take up to three working days once approved. Complaints published on Casino Guru describe a refund request left delayed and a player receiving no reply, and reviews published on Trustpilot describe a withdrawal declined and then met with a fresh identity verification request. Record the date you asked, because clause 11.12 allows only seven days in writing to dispute a bet.

Account blocked or frozen

Sportsbet.io can close an account without telling you why. Clause 9.2 reserves the right "to refuse or close a Member Account at its sole discretion, without prior notice or obligation to state or justify the reason", although the same clause says the balance is transferred to a wallet of your choosing where no suspicion of money laundering or unlawful conduct arises. Clause 3.10 allows the account to be blocked or closed where the operator determines that false or misleading information was given at KYC, so verification stuck at a document stage can end in closure rather than a cash out. Clause 6.7 allows suspension and the withholding of funds where money laundering law or a state authority requires it, and clause 3.4 permits one account per person. Complaints published on Casino Guru describe accounts restricted and treated as linked to other accounts, and accounts closed unexpectedly. If your Sportsbet.io account is suspended, clause 6.6 directs you to customer support to recover funds held in a closed, locked or excluded account. Ask in writing which clause was applied, request the balance at closure, and note clause 3.8: a positive balance left inactive for more than 12 months can be reduced by a 5 per cent monthly administrative deduction. If a VIP or account manager stopped replying at the same moment, record that too.

Winnings voided or confiscated

Confiscated winnings at Sportsbet.io rest on clause 20.1, which lets the operator suspend or terminate an account, cancel outstanding bets and confiscate any or all funds at its absolute discretion on twelve listed grounds. Those grounds run from suspected money laundering or unlawful activity and funds obtained unlawfully, through syndicate membership, automated or software assisted play, collusion and multiple accounts, to deliberate exploitation of an error, bug or technical vulnerability. Clause 20.2 makes the operator the final decision maker on whether a rule was broken, and clause 11.11 lets it set winnings aside during an investigation and then void, resettle or confiscate them. Clause 7.6 confiscates all winnings and closes the account permanently on a double spend finding, across connected accounts. Clause 8.6 allows closure and confiscation where reward terms are treated as abused, and clauses 6.12 and 8.9 deduct the whole reward and any winnings from it where a withdrawal is made before wagering is met. A source of funds request is within what the Curacao licence allows; what can be tested is whether it was raised only after a win, whether the documents asked for were proportionate, and whether the clause cited in the confiscation notice covers the conduct alleged.

Site not responding or gone dark

Sportsbet.io has not gone dark. The domain was live on 4 September 2026, the CGA certificate reached from the site's own seal gave the status as Active, and the terms carried a version line of 1 October 2025. A connection from a restricted country is redirected to landing.sportsbet.io, which serves a short not-available notice with no legal text or terms link, so a redirect is a geographic block rather than a closure. Belgium and Switzerland block the domain at network level. What players describe is silence rather than absence: complaints published on Casino Guru include a player receiving no reply from the casino, and Trustpilot's own note on the profile records that the company has not replied to negative reviews. A withdrawal pending behind that silence still has a route. The operator's complaints procedure sends complaints to complaints@sportsbet.io on its own template within six months of the incident, promises acknowledgement within one week and a decision within four weeks of receipt, extendable once in writing by four weeks. On the date of checking the procedure page stated that the operator was still acquiring certified ADR services, so no ADR provider is named. Where a VIP or account manager has stopped replying, a dated written complaint quoting the clause in dispute turns a stalled chat into a record.

The list names the domain only and does not name mBet Solutions N.V. The sister brand bitcasino.io appears at entry 214 with the same decision and publication dates. The Commission states that the purpose of the list is to inform and protect players.

The stated legal basis is article 86 paragraphs 3 and 4 of the Federal Act on Gambling, under which Swiss telecommunications providers block access to the listed offers. The list names domains rather than licensees. The associated domains bitcasino.io (18 August 2020) and livecasino.io (26 May 2026) are on the same list.

Is Sportsbet.io legit?

"Legit" is really three separate questions. Sportsbet.io holds licence OGL/2023/110/0072 and is recorded as licensed under Curacao Gaming Authority (CGA). 2 documented items sit on the Sportsbet.io file above, every one carrying its issuing body and source. No UK Gambling Commission licence is recorded for it, meaning neither GamStop nor the UK dispute framework reaches it, and that gap matters more than any review score when something goes wrong. No licence anywhere is a promise of fair treatment. Our free licence checker matches any Curaçao licence number against the CGA's own register.

Complaints about Sportsbet.io

Casino Guru, whose page for the brand was marked Last updated 02/2026 when it was read, prints a Safety Index of 5.9 labelled Below average and a complaints ratio labelled Bad. Two counts appear on the same page without being reconciled: a total of 33 complaints, split 0 opened, 2 unresolved, 5 resolved and 26 rejected, and separately a statement of 2 complaints directly about this casino and 4 about related casinos, carrying 4,775 black points of which 4,525 come from the related brands. The site's own assessment sentence is that the casino has a high value of denied payouts in player complaints relative to its size, while its terms assessment records that it did not come across rules or clauses it views as unfair. Its blacklists field reads None. The ten published complaint cards describe confiscated balances and winnings, accounts closed or restricted and treated as linked to other accounts, a refund request left delayed and a player receiving no reply at all. Disputed amounts published on the individual complaint cards run from double figures up to a little over 5,000 USDT, the largest being 5,300 USDT (about £4,200 or $5,300).

Trustpilot prints a TrustScore of 1.2 across 278 reviews, labelled Bad, with 21 reviews in the last 12 months on a profile claimed since September 2020 and a company location shown as Estonia. Trustpilot's own platform notes on the page record no recent history of asking for reviews and no replies to negative reviews, although company replies do appear on some individual threads. Reviews published there describe a withdrawal refused after a large sports win, a withdrawal declined and then met with a request for identity verification, a deposit that could not be recovered once an account limit had been applied, and a dispute over a live casino table balance after a system error. One reviewer describes unpaid winnings quoted in TRX and says verification had been completed before payment was refused.

All of the above are attributed player reports and platform metrics, not findings by any regulator. AskGamblers, LCB, Reddit and Bitcointalk could not be read for this brand on 4 September 2026, so nothing from those sources is relied on here.

What the licence requires

Sportsbet.io is regulated by Curacao Gaming Authority (CGA) under licence OGL/2023/110/0072, and no UK Gambling Commission licence is recorded for it, so GamStop and the UK dispute-resolution framework do not apply. Read more on how Curaçao casino law works.

Since the National Ordinance on Games of Chance (the LOK) came into force on 24 December 2024, Curaçao licences are issued directly by the Curaçao Gaming Authority, which requires licensees to verify player identity, operate responsible-gaming measures and publish a complaints procedure. What it lacks is the UK layer: no GamStop participation, no Gambling Commission oversight and no UK dispute-resolution requirement. That gap changes where the pressure points are; it does not remove them.

If the amount is large

A five or six figure balance at Sportsbet.io runs into several of these terms. Clause 6.10 is the only published periodic ceiling: the operator may elect to process no more than 1 million USDT or the equivalent per week until the full amount is settled, roughly $1,000,000 or £790,000, and Casino Guru prints the same weekly figure in its limits table with no win limit. Clause 6.6 requires additional KYC on any withdrawal above EUR 2,500 (about £2,100 or $2,700), and clause 6.7 allows enhanced due diligence on funds not used for wagering and a refusal to process where that due diligence is not met, so a large balance built from a small turnover can meet a source of funds request rather than a payout. Where you are playing from

Four steps, in order, and they are the same wherever in the world you were playing from, because they attach to the Sportsbet.io Curaçao licence. Complain in writing to Sportsbet.io within six months of the incident (LOK Article 5.3: free, acknowledged within a week, answered by Sportsbet.io within four weeks, extendable once by four weeks). Escalate to alternative dispute resolution, which the LOK requires a licensee to offer at its own expense and which the Authority requires to be run by a provider holding its certification, and which the Authority expects to run no longer than 90 days from the referral; a licensee that has engaged no certified provider is in breach of that requirement rather than exempt from it. Then the Curaçao courts, which Article 5.5 requires a licensee to nominate in its gaming agreement and where a player’s claim against a licensee such as Sportsbet.io is enforceable.

If you are in the United States

The United States is on the operator's published restricted jurisdictions list, so an account opened from there is playing on terms the operator itself treats as prohibited, and clause 3.3 confiscates winnings and rewards in that situation while returning the remaining balance subject to reasonable charges. No United States regulator or court item naming Sportsbet.io or mBet Solutions N.V. was located on public record at our last check, so the dispute route sits with the Curacao licence.

If you are in the EU

Eleven EU states are on the operator's own restricted list: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. Ireland, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Greece and Romania are not. Belgium also blocks the domain: the Gaming Commission carries sportsbet.io at entry 213 of its blocked-sites register, decision 17 March 2021, published 26 March 2021. Outside the EU, the Swiss ESBK blocking list of 25 August 2026 carries the domain with a general decision published on 26 August 2025. A Dutch search returned no results and the Swedish decision list could not be searched, which is not the same as a cleared archive.

If you are in Canada or Australia

Australia is on the operator's restricted list; Canada is not, and no Canadian regulator item naming the brand was located. Australian blocking status could not be checked, because the ACMA blocked-sites page could not be reached from this machine on the date of checking. One disambiguation matters here: ACMA enforcement items naming Sportsbet Pty Ltd concern the Australian licensed bookmaker, a different company from Sportsbet.io and mBet Solutions N.V., and they are not attributed to this brand.

If you are in the UK

Sportsbet.io holds no UK Gambling Commission licence: a search of the Commission's public register on 4 September 2026 returned no result for the domain and no mBet Solutions entity. GamStop, IBAS and the Commission therefore play no part. The United Kingdom is on the operator's own restricted list and the live site redirects a connection from there to a not-available notice. The route is the Curacao one: the clause 24.2 complaint within six months, then the CGA and a certified ADR provider once the operator appoints one.
