Who runs Betory
Clinton & Co could not validate a licence for Betory against the Curaçao Gaming Authority register on 6 September 2026. A casino.guru review names the operator as Nimbus Enterprises Limitada, a Costa Rican company recorded under cedula 3-102-903193; this attribution is a third-party statement and is not read from betory.com's own pages. The brand launched in 2025, per that same review. Costa Rica issues only a general business registration rather than a dedicated gaming licence, so the company registration named by casino.guru sits behind the brand rather than a confirmed gambling permission, and Betory's own domain names no regulator and does not print a licence number.
What Betory names on its own site, and what it does not
Betory's own pages name no gambling regulator and do not print a licence number. The only jurisdictional detail attributed to the brand, via casino.guru, is the Costa Rica company registration held by Nimbus Enterprises Limitada under cedula 3-102-903193; this is a third-party attribution, not a statement read from betory.com itself. Clinton & Co has not verified, from a dated regulator source, whether Costa Rica issues any form of dedicated gaming licence separate from general company registration, so no claim about Costa Rican gambling law is made here. Betory also restricts UK players: Wizard of Odds' review records the United Kingdom as named in the exclusion list within Betory's promotional terms and conditions.
What the public complaint record shows
One complaint recorded on a complaints platform, accessed on 17 June 2026, illustrates the pattern players describe. A player in Quebec reported that their account was restricted and around US$800 in winnings was confiscated without a stated valid reason. The complaint was closed as unresolved specifically because the casino did not communicate. This is a recorded allegation on a complaints platform and is not a finding of wrongdoing against the operator.
Is Betory withholding a withdrawal?
The playbook for a stalled Betory payout is in what to do when a casino withholds your winnings. And if the amount at stake is large, a win Betory voided, a balance it confiscated or a payout it keeps deferring, our withheld winnings service explains which records to preserve and when a Betory file justifies specialist assessment.
What the record shows
Player (Quebec) reported account restricted and ~US 800 in winnings confiscated without a stated valid reason; complaint closed UNRESOLVED due to the casino's lack of communication. Allegation on a complaints platform.
SourceIs Betory legit?
The honest answer to "is it legit" has parts. Betory claims a Costa Rica licence that could not be validated against the register. The record above holds 1 documented item for Betory, sourced and attributed. With no UK Gambling Commission licence recorded for it, GamStop does not cover it and no UK adjudicator can hear a dispute about it, which counts for more than any star rating once money is stuck. Holding a licence is no assurance that players are treated fairly.
Complaints about Betory
Documented items about Betory appear above with their sources; day-to-day Betory complaints, typically stalled withdrawals, verification loops and bonus disputes, are recorded by independent complaints platforms rather than published by any regulator.
A complaint about Betory should go to Betory itself first, in writing, through the complaints channel it publishes or its support address where it publishes none, with every reply kept. If Betory does not resolve it, there is no regulator to escalate to, and in practice the pressure comes from the evidence your own records support. The sequence is set out in how to escalate a casino complaint.
What the licence requires
Betory's licence position could not be validated against the register, and no UK Gambling Commission licence is recorded for it, so GamStop and the UK dispute-resolution framework do not apply. Read more on why Costa Rica issues no gaming licence.
If you are trying to recover money
Because no licence this file could confirm now stands behind Betory, there is no adjudicator anywhere that can order a refund, so recovery runs as a claim built on the Betory terms as they stood when you played and on the evidence your own records support, taken forward with a regulated legal partner where they support it. Preserve your account evidence first, then see how gambling-loss recovery works, the evidence you need to recover losses, and how to escalate a casino complaint.
Search the Curaçao enforcement register for Betory first, because a published action against the licence is a fact your complaint can cite.
Betory sits outside the UK framework. For the wider picture, read getting money back from an offshore casino. If you self-excluded before Betory took your deposits, read getting money back after gambling on GamStop. If the amount is large
A five or six figure balance at Betory is handled differently from a small one, and the Curaçao rules explain why. Under the Gaming Authority’s anti-money-laundering regulations of January 2025, Betory must carry out customer due diligence once your financial transactions reach NAf 4,000, roughly £1,700 / $2,200, counted cumulatively across every deposit and withdrawal since you opened the Betory account rather than transaction by transaction. Where that threshold is crossed because you asked to withdraw, the regulations require Betory to freeze the account completely until your documents reach Betory. They also set a limit the other way: if Betory has not received the information within 30 days of the threshold being reached, it must end the Betory relationship, and where no presumption of money laundering exists the funds are to be transferred to you. Higher-risk Betory accounts attract enhanced due diligence, which is where the Betory requests for source of funds and source of wealth come from, covering savings, employment income, property sales, dividends, inheritances and earlier gambling winnings. The Betory commercial treatment usually shifts alongside the compliance one: the Betory host who answered within minutes goes quiet, and Betory withdrawal limits that never mattered on a £500 / $650 payout start to govern a £50,000 / $65,000 one. Where the Betory account is frozen, the escalation route is set out under Where you are playing from.
Where you are playing from
Your country changes the domestic angles below; it does not change the route, which sits with the Betory Curaçao licence. First, a complaint to Betory within six months of the incident under LOK Article 5.3: acknowledgement within a week, a Betory ruling within four weeks, one written four-week extension at most. Second, alternative dispute resolution, which the LOK obliges a licensee to offer and to pay for, which the Curaçao Gaming Authority requires to be run by a provider it has certified, and which it expects to complete within 90 days of the referral; a licensee with no certified provider engaged has missed that duty rather than escaped it. Third, the Authority itself at complaints@cga.cw, which does not handle individual Betory disputes or order compensation but may act against the Betory licence where complaints point to a breach. Last, the Curaçao courts, which Article 5.5 requires a licensee to name in its gaming agreement alongside Curaçao law, with Article 15.3 removing the old bar on enforcing a player’s claim against Betory.
The Betory licence could not be validated against the None. Costa Rica issues no gaming licence register, so treat the licence route as conditional on that licence existing; the domestic angles below stand either way.
If you are in the United States
For a United States player the domestic picture on Betory is short: gambling is regulated by each state, Betory is licensed by none of them, and the 50 state attorneys general who wrote to the Department of Justice in August 2025 described offshore platforms as operating without proper licensure and evading state regulation, which is the class Betory falls into. Record the Betory dispute with your state consumer protection office or attorney general, but expect no refund of the Betory balance from that channel. Against Betory the working route is the one attached to the Betory licence, meaning the Curaçao route above.
If you are in the EU
Two EU countries have court-recognised refund routes against an operator like Betory with no domestic licence. Austria’s Supreme Court held in 1 Ob 229/20p that contracts with a provider lacking an Austrian concession are ineffective and the stake is repayable, which is the position an Austrian Betory player would rely on. For a German Betory player the Court of Justice of the EU confirmed in Case C-440/23 (16 April 2026) that a player may claim restitution of stakes lost with an operator like Betory where the games were prohibited at home; that case concerned Malta-licensed operators rather than Betory, and the Federal Court of Justice’s lead decision, I ZR 216/25, is still pending, with a hearing listed for 17 September 2026, so a German Betory claim is not yet settled law. The Netherlands went the other way for a Betory player: on 3 July 2026 the Hoge Raad ruled that an unlicensed operator’s contracts are not automatically void, so a Dutch Betory player has no automatic refund, only case-by-case claims against Betory for mistake or in tort. Elsewhere in the EU we have found no sourced domestic route against Betory, so against Betory the Curaçao route above applies.
If you are in Canada or Australia
From Canada or Australia the route against Betory is the same offshore one, because the domestic bodies say so themselves. The AGCO in Ontario cannot get your money back and only assists with disputes about regulated sites, so not with Betory; iGaming Ontario cannot settle bets, refund wagers or award compensation and has no legal relationship with unregulated operators such as Betory; and the other provinces, which run government monopolies, give no route we could source against Betory. In Australia the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 bans online casinos, ACMA accepts complaints about breaches, and it warns that Australian regulators cannot help if an illegal service withholds your winnings. Against Betory, pursue the Curaçao route above.
If you are in the UK
For a UK player the domestic framework simply does not reach Betory. It is illegal to provide gambling facilities to consumers in Great Britain without a Gambling Commission operating licence, wherever the operator sits, and Betory has none, so the Betory account was never inside that framework; but the Commission has no powers to resolve individual complaints or recover money from Betory, and its only ask is that unlicensed sites be reported to intelligencereports@gamblingcommission.gov.uk. Nor is there a UK adjudicator for a Betory dispute: the licence-condition ADR duty binds licensees only, and IBAS adjudicates only against operators registered with it. GAMSTOP covers GB-licensed operators alone, so a self-exclusion never blocked Betory. Your route against Betory is the Curaçao route above, the one attached to the Betory licence.

Common questions about Betory
Can I get my money back from Betory?
Possibly. No licence this file could confirm now stands behind Betory, so there is no regulator or adjudicator anywhere that can order a refund. Recovery instead works through the Betory terms as they stood when you played, the evidence your payment history supports, and where appropriate a regulated legal partner. The right route depends on your evidence, and our initial assessment is free and confidential.
Is Betory legit?
The honest answer to "is it legit" has parts. Betory claims a Costa Rica licence that could not be validated against the register. The record above holds 1 documented item for Betory, sourced and attributed. With no UK Gambling Commission licence recorded for it, GamStop does not cover it and no UK adjudicator can hear a dispute about it, which counts for more than any star rating once money is stuck. Who operates Betory, and is it licensed?
Betory is operated by Nimbus Enterprises Limitada. Betory's licence position could not be validated against the register check recorded on this file. It is recorded as listed on this file. The brand has operated since 2025. This licence sits outside GamStop, so a GamStop self-exclusion does not block accounts held under it.
Does Betory accept UK players?
Betory is not open to UK players on the record on this file. UK treated as restricted (Wizard of Odds) and named in promotional T&Cs exclusion list; never UKGC-licensed. The licence in force when you played is what shapes the routes open to you.
Is there anything documented on file about Betory?
Our research records 1 reported allegation for Betory, with its issuing body and a source you can check. A listing is a record, not proof of wrongdoing, and every case turns on its own evidence.
What should I do if Betory will not pay out or has frozen my account?
Preserve the evidence first: screenshot your balance, the stuck withdrawal, chat transcripts and emails, and save the terms as they read today. Then make one formal written complaint and escalate to the right authority or a regulated legal partner. Avoid closing the account or accepting a partial settlement before you have taken advice.
Will Betory know I contacted Clinton & Co?
No. Nothing is sent to any operator without your written consent. The first an operator hears of your case is a formal complaint you have approved.
Is Betory holding your money?
The sooner the evidence is preserved, the stronger the file. Our initial assessment is free and strictly confidential.
