1red.net's own terms and conditions print Curaçao licence OGL/2024/1178/0479 without naming an operating entity, and the CGA online licence register (3 September 2026, v2 edition) lists that licence number against Bets Entertainment N.V. with the status recorded as Expired.
Our free licence checker covers this and every other operator we hold a file on.
Who operates 1Red
1red.net's own terms and conditions, read 6 September 2026, print a regulator and number line at the foot of the page reading, word for word, "Curaçao Gaming Control Board, OGL/2024/1178/0479", but name no operating entity anywhere in the document. The page's copyright line reads "1Red Canada", which is a trading label rather than a stated legal entity. The Curaçao Gaming Authority's own online licence register, in its 3 September 2026 (v2) edition, lists licence OGL/2024/1178/0479 against a named licensee, Bets Entertainment N.V., and records that licence's status as Expired. AskGamblers' independently compiled listing for the brand, read the same day, corroborates the pairing from a third angle: it names Bets Entertainment N.V. as owner and the Curaçao Gaming Control Board as regulator, matching both the number the site prints and the entity the register holds it against.
A separate domain trading under the same brand name, 1red.com, is a distinct site: its own terms, read 6 September 2026, name no operating entity either, refer throughout only to "the Company" and "the Casino", and state that disputes are governed by the laws of Costa Rica and fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of Costa Rica's courts. That domain makes no Curaçao licence claim of its own. The two domains are recorded here as two separate, dated statements; nothing on 1red.com's page is treated as evidence about 1red.net, or the other way round.
What the terms allow 1Red to do
The terms at 1red.net/terms-and-conditions, read 6 September 2026, state plainly that "The laws of Curacao govern these terms." Under Account Creation, a player "can have one account" and must prove identity before withdrawing: "You'll need to prove who you are before you can take money out. You might have to send in ID papers." Under Deposits and Withdrawals, the same verification requirement is repeated ("To get your money out, you need to prove who you are"), and a wagering condition applies to deposits: "You need to bet your deposits three times before you can take money out. If you haven't played any games, you have to bet the whole deposit amount before you can withdraw." The page also states that transactions flagged as suspicious will be investigated ("Transaction Monitoring: We'll look into any fishy transactions right away and take action as needed") and that money credited by error will be treated as owed back to the operator.
On bonuses specifically, the terms cap sign-up-bonus withdrawals at 75 CAD above the deposit, cap total bonus winnings at 15,000 CAD unless stated otherwise, set a 14-day bonus validity window, and restrict bonus eligibility for players in Sweden, adding that "Other places might have limits too, depending on where you are" without naming them. No complaint-window clause, no dormant or inactivity fee clause, and no maximum single-bet win limit could be found in the fetched text; the page states withdrawals are handled "in the time laid out in our withdrawal policy" without printing that policy's timeframe on this page. The document is marked "Updated: Tue, 13 Jan 2026".
Is 1Red withholding a withdrawal?
The playbook for a stalled 1Red payout is in what to do when a casino withholds your winnings. For a substantial sum, whether 1Red has voided a win, confiscated a balance or simply stopped releasing a withdrawal, our withheld winnings service covers the evidence that decides these cases and the point at which specialist assessment earns its keep.
What the record shows
AskGamblers lists 16 total complaints against 1Red, 11 of 15 logged cases resolved (73 per cent), a 3-day average first response and an 11-day average complaint duration, with an average disputed amount of $7,614 (roughly £6,000). Complaints published there describe withdrawal requests running well past the site's own stated processing window, including one player's account of a withdrawal of 1,500 (currency as stated) waiting 13 days, sudden account closures without an explanation, deposits taken from a payment method but not credited to the casino account, and repeated identity-verification document requests with no clear rejection reason given.
SourceIs 1Red legit?
"Legit" is really three separate questions. 1Red holds licence OGL/2024/1178/0479 and is recorded as lapsed under Curacao Gaming Authority (CGA). 1 documented item sits on the 1Red file above, it carrying an issuing body and source. No UK Gambling Commission licence is recorded for it, meaning neither GamStop nor the UK dispute framework reaches it, and that gap matters more than any review score when something goes wrong. No licence anywhere is a promise of fair treatment. Our free licence checker matches any Curaçao licence number against the CGA's own register.
Complaints about 1Red
AskGamblers' listing for 1Red, read 6 September 2026, records 16 total complaints, 11 of 15 logged cases resolved (73 per cent), a 3-day average first response and an 11-day average complaint duration, with an average disputed amount of $7,614 (roughly £6,000). Complaints published there describe withdrawal requests running well past the site's own stated processing window, including one player's account of a withdrawal of 1,500 (currency as stated in the complaint) left waiting 13 days; sudden account closures with, in some accounts, contradictory explanations from support; deposits reported as taken from a payment method but not credited to the casino account; and repeated identity-verification document requests without a clear reason given for rejection. AskGamblers separately shows a player rating of 9.3 out of 10 from 80 reviews alongside these complaint records, a gap the publisher itself flags as notable rather than something this page draws a conclusion from.
These are attributed player and publisher accounts on an independent review site, not a regulatory or court finding, and no assessment of how typical or resolved-in-practice any individual account is can be drawn from the summary alone.
A complaint about 1Red should go to 1Red itself first, in writing, through the complaints channel it publishes or its support address where it publishes none, with every reply kept. If 1Red does not resolve it, escalation points at Curacao Gaming Authority (CGA), and in practice the pressure comes from the evidence your own records support. The sequence is set out in how to escalate a casino complaint.
What the licence requires
1Red was licensed by Curacao Gaming Authority (CGA) under licence OGL/2024/1178/0479, and no UK Gambling Commission licence is recorded for it, so GamStop and the UK dispute-resolution framework do not apply. Read more on how Curaçao casino law works.
If you are trying to recover money
Because 1Red is licensed in Curaçao and not by the UK Gambling Commission, no UK adjudicator can order a refund, so recovery runs as a claim built on 1Red's own complaints process and contractual terms, taken forward with a regulated legal partner where the evidence supports it. Preserve your account evidence first, then see how gambling-loss recovery works, the evidence you need to recover losses, and how to escalate a casino complaint.
Before you write, look 1Red up on the Curaçao enforcement register: a recorded action against the licensee changes what the complaint should say.
Two guides carry the detail for a Curaçao brand like 1Red. Getting your money back from a Curaçao casino sets out the complaint order and what the regulator can realistically do about 1Red. Where you had self-excluded with 1Red and it kept taking deposits, read what a failed self-exclusion is worth. The free complaint route finder maps the order for you.
If the amount is large
Start with the deadline, because on a large 1Red withdrawal it is the most useful thing to know. The Curaçao anti-money-laundering regulations of January 2025 give 1Red 30 days from the moment your transactions reach NAf 4,000, roughly £1,700 / $2,200, to obtain the information 1Red has asked for; if 1Red does not, it must terminate the relationship, and where no presumption of money laundering exists the funds are to be transferred to you. The 1Red threshold is cumulative, counted daily across all deposits and withdrawals since the 1Red account was opened, and where it is crossed because you want to withdraw the regulations call for the 1Red account to be frozen completely in the meantime. Enhanced due diligence on higher-risk 1Red accounts is where the 1Red questions about source of funds and source of wealth come from, covering savings, employment income, property sales, dividends, inheritances and past gambling winnings. Alongside all of that, expect the softer 1Red signals: the 1Red host stops replying at the point the sum stops being routine, and withdrawal limits buried in the 1Red terms start to matter on a £50,000 / $65,000 balance in a way they never did on a £500 / $650 one. The route for a stalled 1Red account is under Where you are playing from.
Where you are playing from
Wherever you are playing from, a dispute with 1Red runs through the 1Red Curaçao licence and seat. Under Article 5.3 of the LOK, the National Ordinance on Games of Chance, you can complain to 1Red free of charge within six months of the incident; 1Red must acknowledge within a week and rule within four weeks, extendable once by four weeks. If that fails, the LOK requires a licensee to offer alternative dispute resolution at its own expense, and the Curaçao Gaming Authority requires that provider to be one it has certified, on a timetable it expects to run no longer than 90 days from the referral. A licensee that has not engaged a certified provider has fallen short of that requirement rather than been released from it. The Authority does not mediate the 1Red dispute or order compensation, but a complaint to complaints@cga.cw feeds its supervision of the 1Red licence. Beyond that, Article 5.5 requires a licensee to provide a clause submitting the gaming agreement to Curaçao law and any dispute to the Curaçao courts, and Article 15.3 makes a player’s claim against a licensee such as 1Red enforceable there.
1Red is recorded on this file as closed: its own site no longer serves the casino, so the operator side of the route above may have nobody answering it, and the licence position is the one set out in the register block. The 1Red terms as they stood when you played, your own records and the domestic angles below carry the claim.
If you are in the United States
Online gambling in the United States is regulated state by state, and 1Red holds no state licence, so no state regulator has authority over your 1Red account or over the money 1Red is holding. That is the point a bipartisan coalition of 50 state attorneys general put to the Department of Justice in August 2025, asking it to act against offshore platforms operating without proper licensure: enforcement, not a refund scheme for a 1Red player. A complaint to your state attorney general or state consumer protection office puts the 1Red dispute on record. The money route against 1Red is the Curaçao route above, the one attached to the 1Red licence.
If you are in the EU
Whether an EU player has a domestic claim against 1Red depends on the country. In Austria the position on an operator like 1Red is settled: the OGH in 1 Ob 229/20p held that a provider without an Austrian concession acts unlawfully, its contracts are ineffective and the player is entitled to repayment of the stake, so an Austrian 1Red player has a recognised route. In Germany the Court of Justice of the EU (Case C-440/23, 16 April 2026) confirmed that EU law does not prevent a restitution claim for stakes lost with 1Red on games prohibited in the player’s home state, though that ruling concerned Malta-licensed operators rather than 1Red and the BGH’s lead decision (I ZR 216/25, hearing 17 September 2026) is pending, so a German 1Red claim is not yet settled law. The Dutch Supreme Court ruled on 3 July 2026 that contracts with an unlicensed operator such as 1Red are not automatically void, so a Dutch 1Red player has no automatic refund, only a possible claim against 1Red for mistake or in tort. For every other EU country the sourced route against 1Red is the Curaçao route above, the one attached to the 1Red licence.
If you are in Canada or Australia
In Canada the only regulator with a player-dispute process is Ontario’s, and it reaches Ontario-registered sites only, so it does not reach 1Red: the AGCO says it cannot get your money back from 1Red and only assists with disputes about regulated sites, and iGaming Ontario has no legal relationship with unregulated operators and cannot refund wagers. Every other province runs a government monopoly, and we have found no domestic route against 1Red there. In Australia the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 bans online casinos outright; ACMA accepts complaints about breaches but says plainly that Australian regulators cannot help if an overseas site such as 1Red withholds your winnings, and points 1Red players back to the licensing authority abroad. For 1Red that means the Curaçao route above.
If you are in the UK
In Great Britain any operator serving consumers needs a Gambling Commission operating licence regardless of where it is based, and 1Red does not hold one, so nothing in that framework binds 1Red. The consequences for a 1Red player are practical: GAMSTOP only covers GB-licensed operators, so a self-exclusion did not block 1Red; the ADR duty in the Commission’s licence conditions binds Commission licensees only, which does not include 1Red, and IBAS adjudicates only against operators registered with it, so no UK adjudicator can hear a 1Red dispute; and the Commission itself says it has no power to resolve individual complaints or recover money from 1Red, though it takes reports of unlicensed sites at intelligencereports@gamblingcommission.gov.uk. The route that does reach 1Red is the Curaçao route above, the one attached to the 1Red licence.

Common questions about 1Red
Can I get my money back from 1Red?
Possibly. 1Red is licensed in Curaçao, outside the UK system, so no UK adjudicator can order a refund. Recovery instead works through the operator's own complaints process, the evidence your payment history supports, and where appropriate a regulated legal partner. The right route depends on your evidence, and our initial assessment is free and confidential.
Who operates 1Red, and is it licensed?
1Red is operated by Bets Entertainment N.V., the entity the Curaçao Gaming Authority register names against licence OGL/2024/1178/0479, licensed in Curaçao, under licence OGL/2024/1178/0479. It is recorded as lapsed under Curacao Gaming Authority (CGA). This licence sits outside GamStop, so a GamStop self-exclusion does not block accounts held under it.
Does 1Red accept UK players?
1Red is not open to UK players on the record on this file. The terms' only country-restriction clause reads: "Country Restrictions: Players in Sweden can't get bonuses. Other places might have limits too, depending on where you are." This clause is scoped to bonus eligibility, not account registration, and does not name the United Kingdom either way. Bets Entertainment N.V. is not UKGC-licensed, so there is no GamStop coverage and no UK dispute route regardless. Whichever applies, the licence in force when you played is what shapes the routes open to you.
Is there anything documented on file about 1Red?
Our research records 1 reported allegation for 1Red, with its issuing body and a source you can check. A listing is a record, not proof of wrongdoing, and every case turns on its own evidence.
What should I do if 1Red will not pay out or has frozen my account?
Preserve the evidence first: screenshot your balance, the stuck withdrawal, chat transcripts and emails, and save the terms as they read today. Then make one formal written complaint and escalate to the right authority or a regulated legal partner. Avoid closing the account or accepting a partial settlement before you have taken advice.
Will 1Red know I contacted Clinton & Co?
No. Nothing is sent to any operator without your written consent. The first an operator hears of your case is a formal complaint you have approved.
Is 1Red holding your money?
The sooner the evidence is preserved, the stronger the file. Our initial assessment is free and strictly confidential.
