Is the casino licensed by the Gambling Commission?

This sets the escalation paragraph. Yes uses the UK ADR wording; No or Not sure asks for a clear final written response instead. The free licence checker can settle it in seconds.

Complaints Team, [Casino name]

Dear Sir or Madam,

Formal complaint regarding my account ([Account email or username])

I am writing to make a formal complaint about my account with [Casino name]. Please treat this letter as a complaint under your published complaints procedure, acknowledge it in writing, and tell me the timescales that procedure sets out.

The facts

Account holder: [Your full name]
Account email or username: [Account email or username]
Key dates: [Key dates]

What happened

I requested a withdrawal from my account and it has still not been paid.

What I am asking you to do

I ask you to process and pay my outstanding withdrawal in full. I also ask you to investigate every point raised in this letter, respond to each one, and set out your decision and the reasons for it in a final written response. If you rely on any part of my account history in reaching that decision, please provide the records concerned.

Escalation

If you are unable to resolve this complaint, please say so plainly in a final written response, and set out any further review or escalation routes that apply to my account, whether under a licence you hold or under your own published terms.

I look forward to your acknowledgement.

Yours faithfully,

WHY A LETTER

When a formal complaint letter helps

Most casino disputes die in live chat. Messages vanish, agents rotate, and a month later there is no record that you ever complained at all. A formal letter changes that. It creates a dated, written account of what happened and what you asked for, and it obliges the operator to handle the matter through its published complaints procedure rather than a support script. From that point on, silence and refusal both work in your favour, because each becomes evidence you can carry to the next stage.

A good complaint letter is short on emotion and long on facts. It names the account, sets out the key dates, states the amount at stake, describes the problem plainly and asks for a specific outcome. It never threatens, speculates or insults: the reader you are really writing for is the adjudicator or reviewer who may see the letter months later. The generator above builds exactly that structure from your answers, and every word of it is yours to edit before you send it.

Be realistic about what one letter can do. Some operators pay once a complaint becomes formal; others refuse or go quiet, and no letter can guarantee a payment. The point is to force the outcome into writing, because a written refusal, or weeks of silence after a dated complaint, is what unlocks escalation. If you are not sure where the letter fits in the wider process, the complaint route finder maps the full path for your licence type, our guide to complaining about an online casino walks the process end to end, and if serious money is involved you can start a free eligibility check at any time.

Prefer to write it yourself? Our casino complaint letter template sets out the same structure as plain wording you can copy and adapt in your own words, with notes on what each paragraph is doing and why. The generator here is the faster route; the template is the one to use if you would rather keep full control of the phrasing. Both sit alongside the other free tools for a casino dispute.

FIVE STEPS

How to use the generator

  1. Choose the template that fits: a money or account complaint, or a self-exclusion breach.

  2. Fill in the facts. The preview updates as you type, and anything missing shows in square brackets.

  3. Download the finished letter as a text file, or have a copy emailed to you.

  4. Send it to the casino from the email address registered on your account, using its official complaints address where one is published.

  5. Keep everything: the letter, the date you sent it, and every reply. That paper trail is the backbone of any later escalation or claim.

FAQ

Complaint letter questions, answered

Will a formal complaint letter get my money back?

Sometimes, and it is always the correct first move, but we cannot guarantee any outcome. Operators take formally worded complaints more seriously because they know a written refusal can be escalated. Even when the casino says no, the letter has done its job: it fixes the facts and dates on record and starts the clock that escalation routes rely on. If the casino ignores it altogether, that silence itself becomes part of your evidence.

Send it to the casino's official complaints address if it publishes one, otherwise to its main support address, and send it from the email address registered on your account so ownership is beyond doubt. Ask for written acknowledgement, keep a copy and note the date. For a UK-licensed operator the route runs through its published complaints procedure and then its named ADR provider; for offshore sites the licence decides, and our complaint route finder maps it for you.

Use the formal operator complaint for unpaid withdrawals, withheld balances, voided winnings, stalled verification or a term applied unfairly. Use the self-exclusion breach template when the gambling happened after you registered with GAMSTOP or self-excluded directly with the casino: that version also asks the operator for a full account statement and for the records behind its self-exclusion and player-protection checks, because those records sit at the centre of that kind of complaint.

Letter written. Now check the claim.

A formal complaint is step one. If the casino took your money while you were self-excluded, or is holding funds it should have paid, a free eligibility check will tell you whether there is more here than a letter can fix.
